The Global Supply Chain team at Tesla owns our category management strategies and strategic sourcing initiatives. The team gets exposure and opportunities to collaborate with a wide range of business groups including stakeholder groups related to the specific commodity, as well as Legal, and Finance. Global Supply team members are expected to develop strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal business stakeholders, develop global category strategies for material commodities, lead contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives and implement strategic sourcing best practices.
Even interns within our Supply Chain Organization support the development, implementation and management of strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality and delivery performance. Interns build and leverages strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. They work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Tesla and our customers.

Responsible for material handling equipment and media to unlock efficient material flows, drives business process, development of tools and strategies to enable cost efficiencies, high throughput capabilities, and operating models throughout our organization. You’ll get a deep understanding of capital projects management, facility design, storage and order fulfilment systems design for warehouses and distribution centers, material flow automation, intersection of WCS/WES and WMS.
