We are looking for a communications trainee for Aalto Studios. In the most optimal case the traineeship period would start 20th August and end 20th November 2018.
Aalto Studios is the media center of the future, where teaching, research and product development can measure up to the challenges of the rapidly evolving digital society. Aalto Studios facilitates film and TV, games and animation, VR/AR, product- and user experience testing, sensor data analyses, web and social media, the digitalisation of teaching and fast prototyping. Aalto Studios is an active shareholder of digital society that organises and is curating seminars, workshops and events in the field. Additionally, it operates as an AV-production service for Aalto University and its key campus partners.
Aalto Studios was established in November 2016 on the solid foundation provided by Media Centre Lume and Aalto Media Factory. It operates in temporary facilities at the Otaniemi Campus and in Helsinki. The planning for a new media centre to be built at the centre of the Otaniemi campus is well under way. It will be totally awesome, and will change how we teach and research media in Aalto University, in the rest of Finland and beyond. Now the operations are gradually ramped up and beta-tested in the temporary facilities.
The trainee will message to the students and staff of Aalto University and externally to various stakeholders of Aalto Studios. The communication channels are mostly the different social media services, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and so on, but sometimes more traditional media can be used, too. The communication trainee will create news and operate the channels of social media. The person will also develop and update Aalto Studios’ website and take part in other duties, for example helping in organizing events.
